Appliance level break down

Ever tried to play darts blind folded? You know approximately where you need to aim but it’s still a shot in the dark. EnergyCloud can help you make targeted decisions about where to make adjustments to your electricity usage habits, helping you score big savings.

EnergyCloud provides you with a detailed breakdown of your electricity usage by major appliance category, including heating & air conditioning (HVAC), laundry, cooking, water heating, dish washing and electric vehicle. We chose these categories because they are typically the biggest energy consumers in your home and they also provide you the biggest opportunity to save money by making small changes. For example, if you saw how much drying your clothes cost during an on-peak period and how much you could save simply by doing the same drying at a different time of day, it would be easy to save.

EnergyCloud provides you history in 2 important ways. Firstly, you will see an at-a-glance comparison between the last 30 days and the 30 days before that for each category. Appliance categories that are higher are shown in red and ones that are lower are shown in green, and we’ll tell you how much you’re up or down. Secondly, you can click on any appliance category to see up to 13 months of history helping you to identify trends over a longer term.

EnergyCloud does not breakdown smaller appliances like lights, computers or TVs, because those appliances typically use a comparatively small amount of electricity and you’d need to stop using them completely to make a measurable difference in your electricity costs. Continually informing you that we found new appliances that you can’t identify adds no value to helping you save money and would be annoying.
