While Blue Line Innovations does offer a DIY consumer product, the PowerCost Monitor™ (BLI 28000) at an attractive, built for retail $100 entry level price, we fundamentally see ourselves in the “access to real time electricity data” business.
There is a fundamental barrier in the category for solution providers and that is broad access to real time data from the electricity meter. Industry analysts are aligned in projecting broad availability of “smart” meters but also aligned that a very small percentage of these meters will be in broadcast mode. Blue Line Innovations can be an enabler……allowing almost all residential electricity meters (old and new) to become a broadcasting smart meter. We very much see ourselves as a key enabler for the industry.
Blue Line Innovations has developed a menu of easy and cost effective “bridges” to allow real time access to the meter data. These options vary from off the shelf plug and play WiFi/ZigBee/Zwave solutions to Blue Line receiving modules or chips which can be embedded directly into a partner’s existing hardware. These aren’t roadmap wish list items: these solutions are ready to go with full API documentation and integration support.
